Why I built Runometry

Runometry compares running shoes and their prices across retailers. I first built it for myself, then decided to share it. Here is the story behind it.

Hi, I’m Timothy. I run, I write code, and Runometry is where the two meet. Here is what it is, why I made it, and what it isn’t.

What Runometry is

Runometry is a running shoe comparison site. It does one job: help you find the right model quickly, at the best price.

You can browse the catalog and filter it by terrain, price, category or brand. Each shoe page brings together the model’s specs and the prices found at retailers, cheapest first. Torn between two pairs? The comparison tool puts them side by side.

A quick word on how the site pays for itself: links to retailers are affiliate links. If you buy, the retailer may pay Runometry a commission. It never changes the price you pay or the order of the offers.

Why I built it

I love running. And running shoes keep getting more expensive.

So I built this tool for myself first. For any given model, I wanted to know which retailer had it cheapest, without checking every site one by one.

Then it hit me: if it helps me, it can help other runners too. Might as well share it.

Who it’s for

Runners who want to compare quickly: models, specs and prices. Whether you’re training for a race or replacing a pair that has done its miles, the aim is to save you time, and a bit of money.

What Runometry isn’t

Runometry doesn’t replace human advice. A specialist running store, a podiatrist or a coach can watch you run and knows your history and your goals. A website can’t do that.

What Runometry does is show you the right model fast, at the lowest price we found. If a pro has recommended a pair, come here to see where it costs the least.

What’s next

I’d like to write guides and articles that answer the questions runners actually ask. A few guides are already live, and more will follow. Maybe one day there will be a personalised advice option too. Nothing is set in stone: I’d rather go step by step and build what’s genuinely useful.

Your move

Looking for your next pair? Start with the running shoe catalog, or put two models head to head in the comparison tool. Happy running!
